Main aaina tha woh mera khayal rakhti thi,
Main toot'ta tha to chun kar sambhal rakhti thi,

Har ek masle ka hal wo nikal rakhti thi,
Zaheen thi, mujhe hairat mein daal rakhti thi,

Main jab bhi tark-e-talluq ki baat karta tha,
Wo mujhe rokti thi kal pe taal rakhti thi,

Woh mere dard ko chunti thi apne poron se,
Woh mere waaste khud ko nidhal rakhti thi,

Woh doobne nahi deti thi dukh ke dariya mein,
Mere wajood ki nao uchhal rakhti thi,

Dua’en uski bala’on ko rok leti thi,
Wo char sau hathon ka dhal rakhti thi,

Ek aisi dhun kahi nahi phir maine suni,
Wo munfared si hansi mein kamal rakhti thi,

Use nadamate’n meri kahan gawara thi,
Wo mere waste asaan sawal rakhti thi,

Bichad ke us’se main dunia ke thokron mein hoon,
Wo paas thi to mujhe la’zawaal rakhti thi,

Wo muntazir meri rehti thi dhoop mein shayad,
Main laut’ta tha chhaon nikal rakhti thi…!!!
